Yet through the scent of water it will bud, and bring forth boughs like a plant. |

But man dieth, and wasteth away: yea, man giveth up the ghost, and where is he? |

海中的水絕盡,江河消散乾涸。 |

As the waters fail from the sea, and the flood decayeth and drieth up: |

人也是如此,躺下不再起來。等到天沒有了,仍不得復(fù)醒,也不得從睡中喚醒。 |

So man lieth down, and riseth not: till the heavens be no more, they shall not awake, nor be raised out of their sleep. |

惟愿你把我藏在陰間,存于隱密處,等你的忿怒過去。愿你為我定了日期,記念我。 |

O that thou wouldest hide me in the grave, that thou wouldest keep me secret, until thy wrath be past, that thou wouldest appoint me a set time, and remember me! |

Thou shalt call, and I will answer thee: thou wilt have a desire to the work of thine hands. |

For now thou numberest my steps: dost thou not watch over my sin? |

My transgression is sealed up in a bag, and thou sewest up mine iniquity. |

山崩變?yōu)闊o有。磐石挪開原處。 |

And surely the mountain falling cometh to nought, and the rock is removed out of his place. |

水流消磨石頭,所流溢的洗去地上的塵土。你也照樣滅絕人的指望。 |

The waters wear the stones: thou washest away the things which grow out of the dust of the earth; and thou destroyest the hope of man. |

你攻擊人常常得勝,使他去世。你改變他的容貌,叫他往而不回。 |

Thou prevailest for ever against him, and he passeth: thou changest his countenance, and sendest him away. |
第21段

他兒子得尊榮,他也不知道。降為卑,他也不覺得。 |

His sons come to honour, and he knoweth it not; and they are brought low, but he perceiveth it not of them. |
第22段
|
中文 |
但知身上疼痛,心中悲哀。 |

But his flesh upon him shall have pain, and his soul within him shall mourn. |
