Is there not an appointed time to man upon earth? are not his days also like the days of an hireling? |

像奴仆切慕黑影，像雇工人盼望工價(jià)。 |

As a servant earnestly desireth the shadow, and as an hireling looketh for the reward of his work: |

我也照樣經(jīng)過困苦的日月，夜間的疲乏為我而定。 |

So am I made to possess months of vanity, and wearisome nights are appointed to me. |

我躺臥的時(shí)候便說，我何時(shí)起來，黑夜就過去呢。我盡是反來覆去，直到天亮。 |

When I lie down, I say, When shall I arise, and the night be gone? and I am full of tossings to and fro unto the dawning of the day. |

My flesh is clothed with worms and clods of dust; my skin is broken, and become loathsome. |

My days are swifter than a weaver's shuttle, and are spent without hope. |

O remember that my life is wind: mine eye shall no more see good. |

觀看我的人，他的眼必不再見我。你的眼目要看我，我卻不在了。 |

The eye of him that hath seen me shall see me no more: thine eyes are upon me, and I am not. |

云彩消散而過。照樣，人下陰間也不再上來。 |

As the cloud is consumed and vanisheth away: so he that goeth down to the grave shall come up no more. |

Therefore I will not refrain my mouth; I will speak in the anguish of my spirit; I will complain in the bitterness of my soul. |

Am I a sea, or a whale, that thou settest a watch over me? |

When I say, My bed shall comfort me, my couch shall ease my complaint; |

Then thou scarest me with dreams, and terrifiest me through visions: |

甚至我寧肯噎死，寧肯死亡，勝似留我這一身的骨頭。 |

So that my soul chooseth strangling, and death rather than my life. |

我厭棄性命，不愿永活。你任憑我吧，因我的日子都是虛空。 |

I loathe it; I would not live alway: let me alone; for my days are vanity. |

人算什么，你竟看他為大，將他放在心上， |

What is man, that thou shouldest magnify him? and that thou shouldest set thine heart upon him? |

And that thou shouldest visit him every morning, and try him every moment? |

你到何時(shí)才轉(zhuǎn)眼不看我，才任憑我咽下唾沫呢。 |

How long wilt thou not depart from me, nor let me alone till I swallow down my spittle? |

鑒察人的主阿，我若有罪，于你何妨。為何以我當(dāng)你的箭靶子，使我厭棄自己的性命。 |

I have sinned; what shall I do unto thee, O thou preserver of men? why hast thou set me as a mark against thee, so that I am a burden to myself? |

為何不赦免我的過犯，除掉我的罪孽。我現(xiàn)今要躺臥在塵土中。你要殷勤地尋梢我，我卻不在了。 |

And why dost thou not pardon my transgression, and take away mine iniquity? for now shall I sleep in the dust; and thou shalt seek me in the morning, but I shall not be. |
