I say then, Have they stumbled that they should fall? God forbid: but rather through their fall salvation is come unto the Gentiles, for to provoke them to jealousy. |

Now if the fall of them be the riches of the world, and the diminishing of them the riches of the Gentiles; how much more their fulness? |

For I speak to you Gentiles, inasmuch as I am the apostle of the Gentiles, I magnify mine office: |

If by any means I may provoke to emulation them which are my flesh, and might save some of them. |

For if the casting away of them be the reconciling of the world, what shall the receiving of them be, but life from the dead? |

所獻的新面,若是圣潔,全團也就圣潔了。樹根若是圣潔,樹枝也就圣潔了。 |

For if the firstfruit be holy, the lump is also holy: and if the root be holy, so are the branches. |

若有幾根枝子被折下來,你這野橄欖得接在其中,一同得著橄欖根的肥汁。 |

And if some of the branches be broken off, and thou, being a wild olive tree, wert graffed in among them, and with them partakest of the root and fatness of the olive tree; |

你就不可向舊枝子夸口,若是夸口,當知道不是你托著根,乃是根托著你。 |

Boast not against the branches. But if thou boast, thou bearest not the root, but the root thee. |

你若說,那枝子被折下來,是特為叫我接上。 |

Thou wilt say then, The branches were broken off, that I might be graffed in. |
第20段

中文 |
不錯。他們因為不信,所以被折下來。你因為信,所以立得住。你不可自高,反要懼怕。 |

Well; because of unbelief they were broken off, and thou standest by faith. Be not highminded, but fear: |
第21段

神既不愛惜原來的枝子,也必不愛惜你。 |

For if God spared not the natural branches, take heed lest he also spare not thee. |
第22段

可見神的恩慈,和嚴厲。向那跌倒的人,是嚴厲的。向你是有恩慈的,只要你長久在他的恩慈里。不然,你也要被砍下來。 |

Behold therefore the goodness and severity of God: on them which fell, severity; but toward thee, goodness, if thou continue in his goodness: otherwise thou also shalt be cut off. |

而且他們?nèi)舨皇情L久不信,仍要被接上。因為神能夠把他們從新接上。 |

And they also, if they abide not still in unbelief, shall be graffed in: for God is able to graff them in again. |

你是從那天生的野橄欖上砍下來的,尚且逆著性得接在好橄欖上,何況這本樹的枝子,要接在本樹上呢。 |

For if thou wert cut out of the olive tree which is wild by nature, and wert graffed contrary to nature into a good olive tree: how much more shall these, which be the natural branches, be graffed into their own olive tree? |

弟兄們,我不愿意你們不知道這奧秘,(恐怕你們自以為聰明)就是以色列人有幾分是硬心的,等到外邦人的數(shù)目添滿了。 |

For I would not, brethren, that ye should be ignorant of this mystery, lest ye should be wise in your own conceits; that blindness in part is happened to Israel, until the fulness of the Gentiles be come in. |

For God hath concluded them all in unbelief, that he might have mercy upon all. |

深哉,神豐富的智慧和知識。他的判斷,何其難測,他的蹤跡,何其難尋, |

O the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! how unsearchable are his judgments, and his ways past finding out! |

For who hath known the mind of the Lord? or who hath been his counsellor? |

誰是先給了他,使他后來償還呢。 |

Or who hath first given to him, and it shall be recompensed unto him again? |
