For he that speaketh in an unknown tongue speaketh not unto men, but unto God: for no man understandeth him; howbeit in the spirit he speaketh mysteries. |

But he that prophesieth speaketh unto men to edification, and exhortation, and comfort. |

Now, brethren, if I come unto you speaking with tongues, what shall I profit you, except I shall speak to you either by revelation, or by knowledge, or by prophesying, or by doctrine? |

就是那有聲無氣的物，或簫，或琴，若發(fā)出來的聲音，沒有分別，怎能知道所吹所彈的是什么呢。 |

And even things without life giving sound, whether pipe or harp, except they give a distinction in the sounds, how shall it be known what is piped or harped? |

For if the trumpet give an uncertain sound, who shall prepare himself to the battle? |

你們也是如此，舌頭若不說容易明白的話，怎能知道所說的是什么呢。這就是向空說話了。 |

So likewise ye, except ye utter by the tongue words easy to be understood, how shall it be known what is spoken? for ye shall speak into the air. |

There are, it may be, so many kinds of voices in the world, and none of them is without signification. |

Therefore if I know not the meaning of the voice, I shall be unto him that speaketh a barbarian, and he that speaketh shall be a barbarian unto me. |

你們也是如此。既是切慕屬靈的恩賜，就當求多得造就教會的恩賜。 |

Even so ye, forasmuch as ye are zealous of spiritual gifts, seek that ye may excel to the edifying of the church. |

所以那說方言的，就當求著能翻出來。 |

Wherefore let him that speaketh in an unknown tongue pray that he may interpret. |

我若用方言禱告，是我的靈禱告。但我的悟性沒有果效。 |

For if I pray in an unknown tongue, my spirit prayeth, but my understanding is unfruitful. |

這卻怎嗎說呢。我要用靈禱告，也要用悟性禱告。我要用靈歌唱，也要用悟性歌唱。 |

What is it then? I will pray with the spirit, and I will pray with the understanding also: I will sing with the spirit, and I will sing with the understanding also. |

不然，你用靈祝謝，那在座不通方言的人，既然不明白你的話，怎能在你感謝的時候說阿們呢。 |

Else when thou shalt bless with the spirit, how shall he that occupieth the room of the unlearned say Amen at thy giving of thanks, seeing he understandeth not what thou sayest? |

Yet in the church I had rather speak five words with my understanding, that by my voice I might teach others also, than ten thousand words in an unknown tongue. |

弟兄們，在心志上不要作小孩子。然而在惡事上要作嬰孩。在心志上總要作大人。 |

Brethren, be not children in understanding: howbeit in malice be ye children, but in understanding be men. |

律法上記著，主說，我要用外邦人的舌頭，和外邦人的嘴唇，向這百姓說話。雖然如此，他們還是不聽從我。 |

In the law it is written, With men of other tongues and other lips will I speak unto this people; and yet for all that will they not hear me, saith the LORD. |

這樣看來，說方言，不是為信的人作證據(jù)，乃是為不信的人。作先知講道，不是為不信的人作證據(jù)，乃是為信的人。 |

Wherefore tongues are for a sign, not to them that believe, but to them that believe not: but prophesying serveth not for them that believe not, but for them which believe. |

所以全教會聚在一處的時候，若都說方言，偶然有不通方言的，或是不信的人進來，豈不說你們癲狂了嗎。 |

If therefore the whole church be come together into one place, and all speak with tongues, and there come in those that are unlearned, or unbelievers, will they not say that ye are mad? |

But if all prophesy, and there come in one that believeth not, or one unlearned, he is convinced of all, he is judged of all: |

How is it then, brethren? when ye come together, every one of you hath a psalm, hath a doctrine, hath a tongue, hath a revelation, hath an interpretation. Let all things be done unto edifying. |

For God is not the author of confusion, but of peace, as in all churches of the saints. |

婦女在會中要閉口不言，像在圣徒的眾教會一樣。因為不準他們說話。他們總要順服，正如律法所說的。 |

Let your women keep silence in the churches: for it is not permitted unto them to speak; but they are commanded to be under obedience, as also saith the law. |

But if any man be ignorant, let him be ignorant. |

所以我弟兄們，你們要切慕作先知講道，也不要禁止說方言。 |

Wherefore, brethren, covet to prophesy, and forbid not to speak with tongues. |

凡事都要規(guī)規(guī)矩矩的按著次序行。 |

Let all things be done decently and in order. |
